About

Hello. This is Nevine El Shabrawy… I’m the Life & Society and Travel Editor of the EGYPT INDEPENDENT. I am also a photographer – weddings, portraits, and food – I graduated from Pomona College in Claremont, CA in 2003 and finished my MBA in 2008 from the outreach branch of Maastricht School of Management in Egypt. I also love to cook… (as of Jan 2009) and although it’s not a job… I cook for my husband and my two little girls and my fabulous friends. The blog was born after I created my first (not from a recipe) successful, yummy dish.

I am very excited about it.

  2. Hi Nevine,
    Great job!
I just wanted to let you know that your blog was featured in one of our articles yesterday. http://www.cairo360.com/article/city%20life/1290/360-essentials-favourite-food-blogs-and-websites/

  3. This is such a terrific useful resource that you’re providing and also you give it away at no cost. I get pleasure from seeing websites that understand the worth of providing a major resource for free. I actually loved studying your post. Many thanks!

    Hi Nevine,

I saw your article on artist Reham Alaa’s exhibition in Cairo. I’d be interested in making contact with her regarding an exhibition in Dahab, South Sinai.

I have a restaurant in Dahab called Chillax. I have a very nice space and AC Room which I use for exhibitions and such like. I know it’s a long shot but I’d love to show Reham’s work.

In Dahab we miss out on a lot because we’re off the beaten track. However, I’m trying to bring a bit of culture into Dahab through my venue, to give something to the community here who are hungry for some stimulation outside of diving, safari’s, wind surfing and pub quizzes.

If there is interest from Reham or even from yourself I’d welcome a conversation. You can find Chillax on facebook by clicking on the below link. You’ll see I currently have a small exhibition for Maria Saba, a very green young lady but with huge artist potential!

    Kind Regards
    Bron
